Transportation
- Air Service (Commercial and Charter)
Air transportation options include regular service and chartered service to and from the island. There are two airports, The new Martha's Vineyard Airport and the Katama Airfield.
- Bus Services
Year-round bus service to Woods Hole (the Steamship Authority port) is available from Boston South Station and Boston Logan Airport, from New York and from Providence daily. There are a number of routes that make connecting ot the ferry quite easy.
- Car Service
If you're flying into one of the nearby airports, you may find using a private car service to take you to the boat easier than renting a car or taking the bus. The following car services can accommodate a variety of travel requirements.
- Driving
If you are bringing your car, you need to make a reservation!! Expect a wait if you are traveling standby (available only during off-season). Call the Steamship Authority for car reservations. 1-508-693-9130

As an Island, Martha’s Vineyard is well accustomed to greeting visitors who arrive by sea. Many towns offer mooring, marina, launch and fuel service. Towns are situated close to harbors and mariners will find a wonderful variety of shops, restaurants and services within easy walking distance.
